Description
The integrity of the mucus membrane is considered a major physiological defense mechanism against infections. ‘Dry nose’ ‘Rhinitis Sicca’ and ‘Atrophic Rhinitis’ are alternative terms for an equivocally defined disease state. Symptoms are ranging from a feeling of a dry nose ta o burning sensation, itching, and nasal obstruction, up to visible crusting of the nose, epistaxis, diminished sense of smell and a foetid-smelling nasal discharge.
